OHLOLLY: Hi, Faith! First things first..., what is your skin type?
FAITH: Dry, dry and very dry except for my nose and forehead. They are playing on another team apparently and tend to be on the oily side.
And what are your main skin concerns?
At, eh-hmmm, now 42, I'm not only concerned about dry skin, but also really concerned about fine lines and wrinkles that are more prominent when my skin is thirsty. My mom also has eczema, mainly on her hands, so that is definitely a concern for me as well. The Pyunkang Yul hand cream in the green tube is the only product that soothes the small patch of eczema on my hands and stops the intense urge to scratch. An unexpected and welcome side effect!
Did you know anything about Korean beauty before Ohlolly?
Not a darn thing.
What attracted you to K-beauty?
Oh my! A lot, but most of all it created a routine, a day and evening habit of working through each step, truly taking the time for myself. I have no idea why someone wouldn't want to jump on the K-beauty train. It allows me to give myself "me time". Overused term I know, but it's true.
Before K-beauty, what was your typical skincare routine?
Don't get me started, I was a two-trick pony girl, wash and moisturize, wash and moisturize. I did the occasional random mask, or a facial that sadly left my skin burned or scarred. No sunscreen ever. What I thought was taking okay care of my skin, wasn't even close.
When you first started using K-beauty, did you jump right into a full routine? Or slowly add products?
I jumped right in. Go big or go home, right? For the first week or so, I not only felt that my skin was cleaner, but that it was actually thanking me for finally giving it the attention and care that it deserved. Did my fine lines and wrinkles disappear miraculously overnight? No, but they were diminished because my skin was getting the hydration it had needed for so long. I've changed out a few products within my routine, here and there, but my skin feels it if I happen to skip a step.
What are your favorite Ohlolly products or brands and why?
There are so many, but Goodal Moisture Barrier for starter. It's awesomeness in a jar and goes in deep. Dare I say my skin feels supple (supple was not a word I would ever use to describe my skin).
Heimish All Clean Balm. It melts my makeup off, including my Heimish Smudgeproof Mascara and Clio Liquid Eyeliner.
What have you learned about your skin since using Korean skincare?
Healthy, hydrated skin needs consistent care. It loves, loves, loves moisture. And don't skimp or skip any of the routine, your skin will know!
Have you noticed any changes in your skin since using K-beauty?
Yes! My skin feels clean, and so soft. I have less breakouts and impactions. My skin feels like I'm finally taking care of it.
What keeps you returning to Korean skincare?
The products do what they say. I get quality products at amazing prices and there is so much in one jar or tube! They last awhile.
Do you have any advice for those on fence about trying Korean skincare?
Try it! You have nothing to lose and beautiful skin to gain.
