Real Results: A Firming Serum Review

A personal review of the InfoDPlus RE²MAPS Firming Serum

Trying a new Korean skincare product—especially one that promises “firming” for oily, acne-prone skin—can come with hesitation. In this personal review, Anna shares her honest experience using the InfoDPlus RE²MAPS Firming Serum over several months, including during travel (when skin is often at its most unpredictable).

From Skepticism to a Staple

There are several reasons why I was skeptical of the promises made by the InfoDPlus RE²MAPS Firming Serum. I tried it (and loved it) anyway. Here’s why.

First, some skepticism. Any product that promises “firming” always raises an eyebrow for me. The product description was hard for a layperson to understand (what is 100,000 ppm Matrixyl? Or a “stabilized retinol complex”?). The formula is so lightweight—how can that be effective? And to top it all off, I was about to start a few months of travel when I got this product, which is never a smart time to start testing something new. So, the risk felt great. But I braved on, and I’m glad I did.

I researched the list of ingredients (which one should always do!) and felt hopeful that maybe InfoDPlus knew what it was doing after all. I’ve been using this serum for about three months now (or about one month consistently, if I’m being honest), and I’m happy to say it’s a new staple.

As aforementioned, these past months have been full of travel, which for me typically means skin flares, breakouts, and patchiness. I don’t like to alter my skincare routine around travel time, for fear of making these issues worse. But I (riskily) added this serum more consistently to my routine, and to my surprise, my skin not only experienced fewer travel flare-ups, but it also feels more resilient and bouncy in the midst of what would otherwise be a stressful time for my sensitive skin.

My Routine

I use this serum after my toner and before my moisturizer. The toner and moisturizer focus on hydration, so this serum is the main targeted treatment product I use.

I have a combination of sensitive, dry, and acne-prone skin (gulp), so incorporating a new product into my routine is always risky. This serum, though, is the perfect mix for my needs. The texture is scent-free and lightweight, almost watery, so it absorbs easily.

It has hyaluronic acid for soothing, witch hazel leaf water for breakouts, and a retinol for gentle yet effective firming and replenishing. Retinol is the type of ingredient that my skin will thank me for in 10 years rather than 10 days, so I wasn’t expecting to see any immediate results—but I certainly did notice a difference in my skin’s stability and overall elasticity. I’m excited to imagine what this will mean when I keep using this product long term.

Skincare, Simplified

In researching this product to conclude my review, I found this description of the brand: “Inspired by the way travelers seek information desks for guidance, InfoDPlus simplifies complex skin knowledge into clear, accessible guidance.”

This is how I felt using this product. Its ingredient list can feel complicated, and after months of travel, I certainly understood the feeling of being lost without a good guide. Thankfully, I found that guide in InfoDPlus’s Firming Serum—one where the results do all the talking. One that helped my skin feel revitalized, clear, firm, and stable in the midst of an otherwise unpredictable season. One that I will certainly be ordering again.
