Meet Jordain from Oregon. When Jordain turned 30 she started researching anti-aging solutions, which led her to the world of K-beauty and Ohlolly. She immediately jumped into a full K-beauty routine and has been an Ohlolly fan ever since.
She loves trying new skincare products but has thrown out her foundation. “Since using K-beauty, I’ve learned that I can have pretty skin naturally,” she says. Read on to learn more about her full routine, what keeps her returning to Ohlolly and the top skincare tip she gives to everyone.
OHLOLLY: Hi Jordain! First, what’s your skin type and main skin concerns?
JORDAIN: I have combination skin, with an oily t-zone and I’m also acne-prone. So my main skin concerns are acne, but also preventing aging. Plus, I’m prone to redness and uneven skin tone.
Before starting K-beauty what was your typical skincare routine?
Face wash, acne spot treatment, lotion and a foundation with sunscreen in it.
What does your skincare routine look like now?
Currently at night I double-cleanse with the Sioris Milk Cleanser followed by their Cleansing Gel and Toner. Then I alternate between the Cosrx AHA and BHA acids. Next I use a snail treatment, right now I’m loving the new Benton Snail Bee Serum, followed by my favorite eye cream by Innisfree. Lastly I use the Huxley Good Night Sleep Mask every night as my moisturizer. Also I sheet mask 2-3 times a week. In the morning my routine is pretty similar except I cleanse with the Cosrx Low pH Cleanser and then use sunscreen every single day.
Do you have a favorite Ohlolly product or brand?
As you can tell from my routine, I’m pretty obsessed with everything Ohlolly, but Cosrx is my favorite brand. I’m always using a Cosrx product in my routine, whether it’s their acids, their Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap or the Aloe Soothing Sunscreen, which I adore.
What keeps you returning to Ohlolly?
So many things! Free shipping. Ohlolly rewards. The samples and hand-written notes that come with every package. I also appreciate that Ohlolly is always curating new products, which really saves me from having to do the research on my own. Plus, I love all the cruelty-free and natural options.
How has your skin changed since using K-beauty?
My skin is so much more even! I stopped using a foundation and I only wear a CC Cream. And I’ve noticed that since starting the AHA & BHA acid treatments my skin is smooth and almost all my bumps have been eliminated.
Do you have any advice for those who are on the fence about starting a K-beauty routine?
Do it! I always tell people that it’s not as expensive as you think AND doing a full routine doesn’t take as long as you think.
Why do think that taking care of your skin is important?
I think that as busy women we often take care of everyone around us instead of ourselves. It’s important to take those few minutes in the morning and night to reset. And I also always go back to one of my favorite quotes from Coco Chanel, “Nature gives you the face you have at 20; it’s up to you to merit the face you have at 50.”
Finally what’s your top skincare tip?
I tell everyone to wear sunscreen by itself, not mixed in with another product, which is what I used to do. I live in Oregon and I don’t see the sun for 6 months, so people think it’s not as important to wear daily sunscreen protection but it really is!
